The opposition, Coalition for Reform and Democracy (CORD) leaders are today expected to lead a public rally in Machakos County to campaign for the Okoa Kenya referendum.
The rally which will be held at Mulu Mutisya Gardens in Machakos town will kick off at 2.00pm and will bring together leaders in the coalition.
CORD leader Raila Odinga and co principals Kalonzo Musyoka and Moses Wetangula are expected to address thousands of residents who will be in attendance and explain to them what is entailed in the Okoa Kenya referendum.
Senators, MPs, MCAs and other political leaders affiliated to the cord coalition are also expected to attend the rally.
Among the key issues CORD will be addressing in the referendum are insecurity in the country and county funding which they want it to be increased to 45%.
The leaders are also expected to call on residents to register as voters ahead of the 2017 general election.
This rally is among many public gatherings across the country which the coalition is expected to hold in different parts of the country to campaign for the referendum.
