The Cord coalition will on Sunday July 3 hold a thanksgiving prayer and a peace rally in Machakos.
The prayer rally was initially scheduled for two weeks ago but organizers have confirmed that July 3 is the new date.
The rally will be in honour of Machakos senator Johnston Muthama who was one of the Pangani six.
Prayer rallies have been held for the Cord members who were among the Pangani six.
Sources privy to Cord say Raila Odinga is happy with the legislators. Earlier governor Mutua had asked Cord not to bring violence to Machakos a statement that did not augur well with many Cord supporters but they have never responded to him.
The rally comes a day after the DPP recommended Muthama be charged with hate speech after speaking in Busia women Representative's Thanksgiving rally.
