According to Machakos senator Johnstone Muthama the prayer rally will be attended by Cord co-principals Raila Odinga, Moses Wetangula and Kalonzo Musyoka.

Muthama said that the thanksgiving rally will be for the MP after their detention in police cells for four days over alleged hate speech.

Cord has been holding prayer rallies for its MPs who were detained in police cells and later released on bond over hate remarks recently.

On Sunday Cord was in Machakos for Muthama’s thanksgiving where the Cord leaders used the rally to hit out at the Jubilee government.

Cord leaders on Sunday called for the amendment of the hate speech laws accusing the government of using the laws to intimidate opposition members.

The opposition has maintained that it will continue criticise the Jubilee government on key issues.

Junet was among the eight legislators from both Jubilee and Cord detained and later released over hate speech.

The coalition has so far held prayer rallies for Machakos senator Johnson Muthama, Kitutu Masaba MP Timothy Bosire, Kilifi Women Representative Aisha Jumwa, Busia Women representative Florence Mutua.
