Mary Kamau, a business magnet from Nakuru County said they are worried because of the inciting remarks being propagated by some opposition members.

Kamau said such statements would ignite animosity among communities, warning that it would be a big loss.

“I am a worried woman because in 2007, I lost so much and I have not been able to rise to the level where I was back then. When Raila Odinga, Cord leader) incites people, it worries and pains me because I know the ultimate price of hatred among our neighbours who we live with,” she said on Wednesday .

Diana Wamaitha, from Molo said she lost her sight in the 2007-08 post-election violence.

She called upon Raila and his team to root for politics of unity and not division.

“Today, if I was asked, I would say the Cord team has their agenda based on tribes, which is dangerous because they send signals of violence among some people and like I have heard, some of the demonstrations have resulted in confrontations between their supporters and the police,” she said.

A youth leader from Njoro, John Kariuki urged the former prime minister to lead in unifying the country and not be the leader in divisive politics.

The Church across the country has also asked the opposition to embrace national unity in their politics so that blood does not spill again.
