The Coalition of Reforms and Democracy Cord has been urged to suspend demonstrations seeking the removal of IEBC from office.
The National Council of NGOs has appealed to the opposition to sought other means such as dialogue in seeking the disbandment of IEBC commissioners.
At the same time the council has appealed to President Uhuru Kenyatta and his Deputy William Ruto to allow for dialogue over calls to remove IEBC from office.
"We want to appeal to the president to open doors for dialogue , as this would prevent political leaders from engaging in activities that might bring violence. The protests are unhealthy for our economy," said Stephen Cheboi.
The councils chairperson Stephen Keboi has said that the demonstration might jeopardise national peace if they are not taken seriously.
" It will be unethical to hold elections with a disputed elections body," added Cheboi.
Cheboi appealed to all civil society groups, church leaders and political parties to engage in dialogue over the standoff regarding IEBC.
"Let the civil society , church leaders and all political parties come to a consensus through dialogue on the best way to a have a new commission before the next general election," he added.
