Coalition for Reforms and Democracy (CORD) will go to streets in January to protest against the controversial election law amendments, Raila Odinga has said.
on Thursday, MPs allied to government passed a contagious amendment that will provide channel for electoral body to transmit election results manually should electronic transmission fail.
Speaking at his Capitol Hill office, Odinga said demonstrations will be held from January 4th to compel government to reconsider its position.
"We have consulted and come to the conclusion that Jubilee is not ready for free and fair elections and we cannot take part in fake elections," he said.
"We do not want guess work and our stand remains that election results must be transmitted electronically and no one can change that. Kenyans deserve better than Jubilee theatrics," added Odinga.
He accused House Speaker Justin Muturi of partiality adding that his rulings could plunge the country to unprecedented state of anarchy.
