The opposition Cord leader Raila Odinga now wants fresh voter registration exercise conducted.
This follows the disbandment of the Independent Electoral and Boundaries commission (IEBC).
He said fresh voter registration should be conducted before the 2017 general elections.
He says the move will assure Kenyans of a free and fair election next year as it will eradicate the issue of ghost voters.
He further called upon the Parliament Joint Select Committee on IEBC reforms to fast track its work and ensure the electoral body is disbanded.
“We want to ensure that we reform the electoral infrastructure so that we can have a commission that can be able to manage the coming general election,” said Raila.
Raila was speaking at Migori grounds during the homecoming ceremony of Suna East MP Junet Mohamed.
