Kiambu Town Constituency Member of Parliament Jude Njomo has accused opposition leaders Raila Odinga, Moses Wetangula and Kalonzo Musyoka of allegedly plotting to make Kenya ungovernable through their weekly anti-IEBC protests.
On Tuesday, Njomo said that opposition calls for protests is led by hidden agenda, adding that Cord had refused to dialogue and instead opted for protests.
“Opposition leaders should stop blame games and tell Kenyans the truth, they cannot be calling for dialogue when they are still on the streets,” said the MP when he addressed journalists at his Kiambu office on Tuesday.
Njomo said that Cord was taking advantage of the right to protests to instill fear in Kenyans through protests, accusing the opposition leaders of not being patriotic, saying that their protests are causing political tension.
On Monday Cord continued their protests with demonstrations in Kibera, Kisumu and Migori, with reports that one person was allegedly killed by police in Kisumu.
Opposition leaders have maintained that their protests will go on until Jubilee commits to dialogue.
On Tuesday however the government banned Cord anti-IEBC protests, with Interior CS Joseph Nkaissery said that Cord protests will no longer be tolerated..
