The recent bombshell was the resignation of the Budalang’i MP, Ababu Namwamba as the secretary general of the party.

The Kilifi senator, Stewart Madzayo has asked the remaining politicians in the party to stay put as the government will be Cords’ in 2017.

Speaking on Tuesday, the senator said that the remaining members of the party are great assets and should bare with the party at this difficult time.

He was particular about the exit of Namwamba and Funyula MP, Paul Otuoma to reconsider their actions.

"We expect harmony in the party. I urge them to reconcile and come back to the house," Madzayo said.

The senator pointed out that Cord has a great chance of forming the 2017 government but only if those in the party were willing to work towards it to attain the goal.

"The Cord coalition has the manpower and brains. That is why even President Uhuru Kenyatta is poaching them to the government," he said.

The party has been having hurdles between members, an issue that could be seen as a deal breaker ahead of the 2017 General Elections.
