Cord will not use Parliament to have the IEBC disbanded an MP has said.
Kabondo Kasipul MP Silvance Osele said the tyranny of numbers will eventually not allow for the disbandment of the Commission through Parliament.
Mr Osele said the government has gone in bed with the Commission and Kenyans should not expect a free and fair election in 2017 under the current Commission.
“Look at how they messed the Okoa Kenya signatures, pro-government MPs were aware three days to the announcement by IEBC. This tells you that the government and IEBC is one,” he said.
He said the power is in the hands of Kenyans who have no faith in the current Commission.
The MP noted that the push to have the Commission disbanded is in the custody of the people and supported the move to march to the IEBC offices.
Addressing a press conference in Kisumu on Monday, Osele said some of the Commissioners were adversely mentioned in corrupt deals and are still in office.
He said some of the people who were involved in the scam with the Commissioners have been arrested and jailed in the United Kingdom.
“Those who were in the corruption deal with some of the Commissioners wee arrested, charged and jailed. What about here in Kenya, the same Commissioners are still lining up to oversee the coming election. Never,” he said.
Osele said the BVR kits also failed under the current Commission in the last general election noting that it is the wish of Kenyans that a new referee is recruited before the 2017 poll.
