The ODM lawmaker said no amount of intimidation will scare the opposition from executing their mission to form a new poll body to oversee the coming elections.

He further questioned President Uhuru Kenyatta's sincerity in issuing threats to the coalition leaders saying the President has no moral authority to speak on behalf of the Commission.

He claimed the President is over defending the Commission.

The MP said the opposition was ready to be teargassed as long as they achieve their mission to ensure that a credible election is conducted come next year.

"We want to tell everyone that our mission is not yet complete. It will only be complete once we see Isaak Hassan and his team out of office. We need a credible electoral body in place," said Mr Shabbir.

The legislator further said by a mere fact that even the clergy have questioned the integrity of the Commission is enough to tell how the Commission which by Constitution is supposed to be independent is suffering from integrity problems.
