However, what is evident is the fact that the trio has an unresolved issue on who to grant the party's flagship ticket in the incoming presidential elections.

From what Raila's lieutenants hold, the coalition will have a direct nomination for him to vie for the position owing to his massive popularity across the country and also due to his long term experience.

Wetangula on his side feels he is the right candidate to lead the party. Over a number of occasions, Wetangula has been quoted saying that his turn had come lead, noting that the Luhya community has for long been sidelined in national politics. His sentiments indicate he is not close to giving Raila a direct nomination ticket.

Kalonzo Musyoka, on his side is nursing betrayal from the opposition chief. Prior to the 2013 elections, Kalonzo signed an MOU with Raila, an agreement that has since been nullified. Any other agreement with will not auger well with Kalonzo who has already been made wise by experience.

For Raila, this is the time to make or break. He has lost severally in the race and giving Kalonzo or Wetangula a chance will mean his presence in Kenyan politics will be long gone.
