According to county Lands CeC Rachel Maina, some corporates were failing in their corporate social responsibility.

Speaking at the county headquarters on Tuesday after hosting representatives from Safaricom Limited, Nakuru branch, Maina eluded confidence in having a good working relationship with such corporates saying leaving everything to the county government would negatively affect development initiatives.

"We are looking toward having a partnership that will benefit the residents of Nakuru. As a county government, we are committed and ready to work with such corporates for a better environment," she said.

Ms Maina called on different corporates to help in branding and making the town beautiful, initiating environmental friendly parks and dust bins.

"This will only be achieved if these corporates actively participate in public forums so that we share ideas as stakeholders from different fields and adopt workable projects," she added.

Among issues that were raised was how Safaricom network coverage can be enhanced in areas where the network is low as well as areas such as the Lake Nakuru National park.

This comes barely a month after representatives from Brand Kenya paid Governor Kinuthia Mbigua a courtesy visit with an aim of rebranding sections of that Nasher bus park.
