Nyamira County revenue collectors engaging in corruption related activities risks losing their jobs.
Deputy Governor Amos Nyaribo said money collected from traders should be utilized well by the county government to develop Nyamira County.
“County revenue collectors embezzling public funds should know that their days are numbered. Corruption is illegal and punishable by law.
"Money collected as tax should be used appropriately to develop Nyamira region and ensure all markets across the county are upgraded,” he said.
Nyaribo defended Governor Nyagarama against corruption accusations.
“My boss Governor Nyagarama has not in any way engaged in corruption as claimed by opponents.
"Anyone with evidence about Nyagarama’s corruption scandals should move to court to file a case instead of spreading propaganda and hatred,” he noted.
