Nyaribabari Chache Member of parliament Richard Tong’i has said massive corruption in Kisii county government has denied the area residents key services and there is a need for change.
Speaking at Nyamage primary school on Monday while opening the renovated classes Tong’i said on most occasions they are forced to carry out harambees so that most of the classes and hospitals can be renovated instead of the county governments providing funds for the same.
“We want to ensure that the money that is always brought to the county government is well utilised so that the residents can benefit from the same instead of being wasted under the corrupt hands,” he added.
The legislator said that the county government of Kisii under the leadership of Ongwae has failed residents and promoted more nepotism of which is unconstitutional and he will ensure that doesn’t happen once another government is elected to power.
The MP also added that the priorities of Ongwae have been turned upside down and there was a need for the residents to have a second thought of endorsing and voting for the current Kisii senator Chris Obure.
“I have no personal grudge with Ongwae though all I want is to fight for the whole county which is in a sorry state,” he added.
