EACC has raised alarm over increased cases of corruption and illegal hiring of county employees in Nyamira County.
According to EACC commissioner Rose Macharia, Nyamira County Governor John Nyagarama has failed to address corruption in his government.
Macharia regretted that Nyamira County has not developed since 2013 due to embezzlement and misappropriation of funds by the regime.
“In Nyamira, we have serious corruption challenges. Most workers are looting but the law is yet to take course," she said.
Ms. Macharia challenged area MCAs to unite and ensure there are zero cases of corruption in the county.
“Nyamira MCAs should stop approving reports on county expenditure where there is no tangible development done using the public funds," she said.
Last week, deputy governor Amos Nyaribo, insisted that the county is a corruption free zone and lauded staff for the 'milestone'.
