Youths from Kisii county have said that unemployment is the major key factor that has increased corruption in the society.
Led by the Kisii boda boda chairman Mice Mose, they said that due to the high numbers of youths who are not employed by either the county government or the national government, it has led to an increase in corruption in the area.
He therefore challenged the country and the national government to have measures put in place which will help youths so that they can get employment and end corruption as many of them are being used to carry out corrupt activities.
Mike also said that as youths more so the boda boda sector, they are committed to making sure that they do not involve themselves in any form of corruption.
“As youths, we are devoted to do what is right but the challenge is that most of the youths are not employed, we urge our country and national government to create jobs for youths so that we can fight this vice,” said Mose
He was speaking at Gusii stadium on Wednesday during the International Anti-corruption day.
