Baringo Senator Gideon Moi has blamed President Uhuru Kenyatta's regime for the increased cases of corruption in the country.
In his New Year message, Moi said Kenyans were burdened by seemingly runaway corruption in the public sector.
"This will be the legacy that will define President Uhuru Kenyatta's leadership. Kenyans are dismayed by allegations of corruption in almost all government departments," he said.
The KANU national chairman urged the President come out clear in the war against graft, noting that he must deal with it without fear or favour.
"He has promised to fight corruption but what is happening now is totally different. Public money is being stolen in billions under his watch. This is the time he needs to deal with it decisively," said Moi.
On Saturday, President Uhuru vowed to fight corruption in the country saying that the efforts must go beyond arrests to convictions.
“What I have learned this year, ladies and gentlemen, is that there is no silver bullet for corruption. Efforts must be sustained and undertaken in multiple sectors and levels," said Uhuru.
