A section of Mombasa MCAs on Tuesday allegedly found pieces of cotton wool in five bottles of Coca Cola's Dasani water.
According to County assembly Health committee chair Kibwana Swaleh, the matter is under investigations.
“We noticed since it was daytime. It is scary when you think of how many people have already consumed such water,”said Swaleh.
The star newspaper reports that the assembly will give Coca-Cola a chance to explain itself and action will be taken if the water will be found to be contaminated
In response, Coca-Cola CEO Ibrahim El Khoury affirmed that their water was clean because it had been cleared for human consumption by the Kenya Bureau of Standard.
“We have taken up the matter and we will give out our findings when we receive the report from our officers,” Khoury said.
