[Photo Cotu Kenya]Umbrella workers union Cotu, held a Strategic Plan 2018-2022 meeting for a strategic plan that will see the organisation become a premiere umbrella trade union that champions for a decent and sustainable work environment. The launch was on Tuesday presided over by Cotu chairman Rajab Mwondi, Secretary General Francis Atwoli, Treasurer Rebeca Nyathogora and Deputy Secretary General Benson Okwaro among other leaders, members and workers.The meeting comes after 600 workers in tea Estates in Rift Valley Central and Nyamira regions through Kenya Plantations Workers Union (KPAWU) were reinstated to work on January 30, after they were fired for participating in strike in October 2017. The Unions Organizing Secretary Henry Omasire celebrated after the Court ordered TGA Tea Growers Association to reinstate the 600 workers unconditionally.
