Court of Appeal judge Justice David Maraga Kenani is among candidates seeking the Chief Justice's position.
Justice Maraga who hails from Bonyamatuta in Nyamira County is the only Kisii who will now battle it out with five others for the CJ position that was left vacant following Willy Mutunga's retirement on June 16, this year.
The Chief Justice is head of the Judiciary and also president of the Supreme Court and on Tuesday, the Judicial Service Commission released the list of the shortlisted candidates seeking to replace Mutunga.
