Ford Kenya leaders led by Bungoma Senator Moses Wetangula have continued their onslaught against Amani National Congress Leader Musalia Mudavadi, alleging that Mudavadi could be a Jubilee project.
The allegations by Ford Kenya comes just days after Mudavadi was crowned the Luhya Community spokesperson in a ceremony presided over by COTU Secretary General Francis Atwoli held in Bukhungu Stadium, Kakamega.
Ford Kenya has since alleged that the crowning of Mudavadi could be a ploy by Jubilee to "confuse" the Luhya Community ahead of the August polls.
However, in a press conference on Tuesday, Mudavadi broke his silence on the Ford Kenya allegations, saying he was not interested in engaging what he described as "sideshows", and that his only concentration at the moment is to ensure that the Opposition remains united as it prepares to face Jubilee Party in the next elections.
"I won't waste my time trying to deal with sideshows. The most important thing is we want unity for the Opposition. The government in power is Jubilee and an opportunity is being given to Kenyans to vote for a new dispensation. That is what we want to target as the Opposition," Mudavadi said.
"We are not going to the joint Opposition meeting divided. It is also important that we are not attending the meeting as Luhyas. We are going there as representatives of various parties," he added ahead of the Bomas meeting scheduled for Wednesday that seeks to bring together over 4,000 Opposition leaders.
