Nyeri Senator Mutahi Kagwe has claimed that the much-touted opposition outfit dubbed the National Super Alliance (Nasa) could lock Wiper leader Kalonzo Musyoka out of the presidential ticket.
Speaking on Wednesday during an interview on a vernacular radio station, the Senator cited the 2013 Memorandum of Understanding allegedly signed between Kalonzo and ODM leader Raila Odinga, where the former would be the opposition's presidential flag bearer in the next general election, t,he Star has reported..
"Kalonzo was deceived in 2013 when they even reached an agreement where he would be the 2017 presidential flagbearer," Kagwe said.
"He went round and convinced his people to vote for Cord but we can now see that his co-principals are selfish and have instead formed a new outfit to dupe Kalonzo," he added.
Kagwe further exuded confidence that President Uhuru Kenyatta would win the next elections.
Nasa is yet to settle on a presidential candidate just seven months into the elections, with ODM leader Raila Odinga, Wiper's Kalonzo Musyoka, ANC's Musalia Mudavadi and Bungoma Senator Moses Wetangula gunning for the opposition's ticket.
