Led by former aide to the Opposition chief Eliud Owalo, the aspirants urged Mr Odinga to instead focus on his presidential bid.

"Raila Odinga should choose between Kibra Constituency and the Presidency. He will not get both at the same time," Owalo said in a statement on his official Facebook page on Saturday.

Owalo further warned that Rosemary Odinga's (daughter to the Cord Leader) interest in the Kibra seat would jeopardise Odinga's presidential bid ahead of the August polls.

"The Juvenile misplaced excitement and unparalleled sycophancy exhibited in Kibra Constituency today in relation to the imposed parliamentary candidature of Rosemary Odinga may as well turn out to be Raila Odinga’s waterloo in his quest for the Presidency," he cautioned.

Incumbent Kibra MP Ken Okoth, Raila Odinga's daughter Rosemary Odinga and Eliud Owalo are the leading candidates for the ODM Party ticket.
