Baringo Senator Gideon Moi has for the record second time begged his constituents not to show him the door during the next general elections.
Speaking on Tuesday, the lawmaker urged the locals to back his re-election bid, with a pledge of seeking a higher office should he recapture his current seat.
The Senator has on several occasions hinted at vying for the presidency.
"I am appealing to you my good people not to ashame me, instead support me so I can climb the ladder," he said.
"My responsibility as a Senator is to push for resources to come into the county. The rest is implemented by the Governor and MPs," he added.
The Kanu Party leader is reportedly facing stiff competition from Jubilee candidate Simon Chelugui.
He, however, dismissed Chelugui's candidature, calling on the residents to reject the former Betting Control Board director's candidature.
"I supported Chelgui totally when he vied for governor. Now he has left the county top seat, full of resources, to eye this small seat I occupy," Moi said.
