For a man of NASA leader Raila Odinga's political stature, earning his trust is hard. But for Suna East MP Junet Mohammed, his place in the former Prime Minister's heart is already assured.

As Raila left the country for Juba, South Sudan on Saturday to lead the peace talks between President Salva Kiir and his bitter rival Riek Machar, one man who was conspicuously present in his entrouge is Junet Mohammed. And with the ODM leader leaving behind his longtime allies including Siaya Senator James Orengo, a message was being sent that probably the National Assembly Minority leader is the man of the moment.

This is not the first time Raila is doing this. In March, when he struck a political deal with President Uhuru Kenyatta, the Suna East MP was on his side. Trusting the two-time MP at such a critical moment sent a political message that the former Migori Mayor is a trusted ally.

With Junet now in a political slumber land, the road to greatness has just begun and the future looks bright.  And with Raila's ear, the vocal MP is going places.
