With a staggering 37 number of candidates scoring 400 marks and above in the just released KCPE 2016 results, Star Sheikh academy is towering above all the other academies in Machakos county that one could possibly think of.
The best candidate, Mung'athia Jesse Mwega scored 425 marks, only 11 marks shy from the top candidate nationally.

I visited the school on December 5, in a bid to interview the best candidate and I was awed by the neatness of the school and the high level of organization.
The school compound is also huge. It houses the primary, secondary sections, dormitories, a huge playing field, Administration block and even a mosque.
At the gate, several huge school buses are parked. Almost all the tree trunks are decorated with wise academic quotes. It was sad I did not meet the school's director but he deserves praises.
