The Nairobi National Park is being cut into half by the construction of Phase 2A of the standard gauge railway, as it makes it's way to Ngong and Suswa from Embakasi. The construction is still going on contrary to the court orders issued to hault the construction.

The view of Nairobi's skyline from some sections of the park is definitely going to change as an elevated railway will cut across the image above once the construction is over.

The main victims of the construction will be the ecosystem within the park. As per the current standing of the construction, it can be clearly seen that the movement of the wildlife has been interrupted by the construction.

Some proponents  of the SGR say the animals will be able to move freely under the 114 concrete pillars once construction is complete.

The truth still stands that the wild animals will always be exposed to risks of pollution by air by the smokes from the trains and pollution of the environment in general caused by the trains; this is hardiuous to the health of this wild animals. This can lead extinction of this wild animals.
