Mr Dagane said the county government is in the process of providing safe and clean drinking water to all sub-counties in Garissa.

Speaking to the press after inspecting and officially opening renovated water tanks in Bulla Quba, Mr Dagane said the initiative will save the residents from long journeys in search of the precious commodity.

The deputy governor warned residents against making illegal connections to water supply  adding that stiff action will be taken against the offenders.

“I want to fore-warn those residents who have made it a habit of manipulating institutions for their selfish gains that those days are long gone," he said.

“Now that we have connected 90 percent of Garissa town residents to clean and safe drinking water, we want to embark on a programme to ensure the same services are available at all the sub-county headquarters to start with,” added Mr Dagane.
