The Population Services Kenya (PSK) that distributes Trust brand of condoms in the country has raised awareness over fake condoms in the market.

In advertisement made local dailies for three consecutive days the PSK has warned its consumers to be on look out.

“With Trust Studded condoms, you get high quality, value condoms that you can rely on,” the PS Kenya advert reads, adding: “Look out for the marks of quality on our packs to ensure that you are purchasing authentic Trust packs. Don’t compromise,” read part of the advertisement.

PSK Trust Studded customers have been urged by the organisation to ensure that the name “Studded” is in bold and at the centre of the pack and that they should also check the front face of a pack of Trust Studded to ensure that it has a triple tested icon on the bottom left side and a white stripe with pack content and the pack only bears content details and “only bear PS-Kenya contact details.

Substandard condoms are made of fragile materials which could lead to the tear or break which can result to unwanted pregnancies and transmission of sexually transmitted infections and HIV and AIDS in extreme cases.
