Nyaribari Chache Member of Parliament Richard Tong’i has said that counties have turned to be the most corrupt institutions since devolution kicked off and there is a need of urgent response on the same.
Reacting to the recent Auditor General's office report the MP said that the governors have failed to be accountable for the public resources and most of them have misused them instead of diverting the funds to the development purposes.
Speaking with this reporter at his home after meeting some of his agents on Wednesday morning the MP said that there was a need for the top National government leadership in conjunction with the judiciary and DPP nto ensure they hold investigations and bring those involved to book.
“Most counties can’t be accountable for over Sh200 million each and other have spent more than Sh100 million in tea expenses which can be done away with and bring development to the locals,” he added.
He, however, said that he will ensure that the National assembly committees check the auditor general report well so that the governor s can be accountable.
