The legislator opined that the health docket should be returned to the national government.

“In many occasions we have witnessed strikes involving medics and counties are unable to address the strikes until the national government intervenes. It is time the health docket should be under the national government so that the health sector can improve in service delivery to the people of Kenya,”she said.

She called on governors to stop lying to their people that they can improve the health docket.

“Governors should accept that they can’t manage the health docket, so that the national government can plan to take it. Kenyans need access to improved health care, failure to which innocent people will be dying in our hospitals due to negligence, because counties will be hiring unqualified staff who will ignore patients in hospital leading to their deaths,” she stated.

The MP was speaking  at Kenyatta University funeral home where she had accompanied a family for a repeat autopsy.

The repeat autopsy was set to be carried on a woman who died days after giving birth at Thika level 5 hospital, in what is suspected to be negligence from the doctors who attended to her.
