With only two months to elections, both Jubilee and NASA teams have launched classical campaigns to outsmart each other in August elections.
While President Uhuru Kenyatta is keen to raid traditional opposition base in Coast and Western regions, NASA has come with a new strategy to wrestle Jubilee in certain counties that voted overwhelmingly for Kenyatta in2013.
And the team has come with four campaign teams in which Junnet Mohammed led wing is tasked to campaign in marginalized regions where Jubilee scored fairly well five years ago.
Among the regions targeted include Garissa, Mandera, Isiolo, Marsabit, Samburu, Laikipia, Narok and Kajiado counties.
On Wednesday, NASA leadership led by Odinga held a huge rally in Isiolo town barely a week after President Kenyatta’s rally which was marred with chaos.
Closely monitoring the campaigns in the marginalized counties includes Ahmed Abdullahi (Wajir), David Nkedianye (Kajiado), Johanna Ng’eno (Narok} and Turkana’s Josephat Nanok who is supervising the North Rift.
In 2013, defunct URP party of Deputy President William Ruto scooped many seats from marginalized counties which NASA is keen to control in August.
