Speaking on Monday during the commissioning of two classrooms at Lanet Primary School-Special Unit, the chairperson Board of Trustees of National Fund for the Disabled of Kenya, NFDK, Mrs Kristina Kenyatta Pratt said physically challenged children should also be empowered.

"We are especially calling on county governments to dedicate some funds in their annual budgeting for the facilities of PWDs especially schools, homes and rehabilitation centres,"she said.

She called on the County governments to ensure infrastructures are as per the standards that can be accessed by the PWDs.

The NFDK chair said more efforts to aid PLWD should be put in all sectors.

"Let us join hands with the National Government and other stakeholders and empower these children with education as this is the best sustainable gift we can give them for their future,"she said.

On politics, the sister to President Uhuru Kenyatta said all people should live in peace.

"In Kenya we have many tribes but one nation. Let no one come here to tell you that you should not stay here nor there.What we need is peaceful co-existence.You have heard even our President saying that even though he does not agree with the ruling, he respects it because he loves Kenya and wants peace,"she said.
