Senate Speaker Ekwe Ethuro has encouraged county governments to create an environment that will attract investors who will help develop counties.
Speaking after opening the Medi-Heal Clinic at Eldoret town over the weekend, Ethuro said that county government have an opportunity to sell themselves to the foreign and local investors.
He noted that devolution of services has given county governments freedom to decide on how they want to spend and invest.
“I would like to encourage county governors to create a good environment for both local and foreign investments,” he said.
The Speaker at the time urged county governments to spend wisely and ensure that they implement project that will directly benefit the people.
Ethuro added that devolution was meant to address the key challenges facing the people and further bring services closer to them.
He assured residents that the senate will continue to work on policies that will protect devolution.
The Speaker asked county leaders to work together and stop wrangles that will derail development.
Ethuro urged Kenyans to show keen interest on devolution and understand how their taxes are being used to promote development.
