Nandi senator Samson Cherargei in a past scene.He says the country is now moving in the right direction following the reelection of President Uhuru Kenyatta and his deputy William Ruto.(northriftnews.com)A senator allied to the Jubilee coalition has exuded hope that the country is now headed in the right direction following the reelection of President Uhuru Kenyatta and his deputy William Ruto on October 30.Nandi senator Samson Cherargei said Wednesday that the election of the duo had now put to rest the fears of a constitutional crisis that threatened to derail the country's progress.Cherargei stated that president Kenyatta had already promised to oversee a national dialogue with the opposition after they will have exhausted all the legal provisions in the country in trying to challenge his win."We are in the right direction as a country now because the greatest concern was about this constitutional crisis.However with the election having taken place all is in place now.I'm glad that the president has also vowed to hold talks with the opposition once they exhaust all the legal mechanisms", he said.The senator also hit out at Nasa leader Raila Odinga over his people assemblies proposals saying it is aimed at stoking animosity and sowing discord against the government of the day.He was speaking to Citizen TV.
