Three teaspoons are potentially fatal.

It was established that the killer brew called 'countryman' which was consumed had 100 percent methanol against 0 percent whichbis required.

Surprisingly the brew was approved by Kenya Bureau of Standards(KEBS) to be fit for consumption.

Local leaders blamed the tragedy on corruption and negligence thus calling for an increase in the compensation.

They said the government should take full responsibility and treat toxic brew survivors the same way they treat terrorism attack victims.

Samples were taken for analysis and investigations conducted into the incident.

Until now, the victims and residents who lost their kins are still crying out to the government to compensate them as promised.

Not only Makueni had its share of the tragedy but the whole country since 86 people died countrywide from consuming the illicit liquor while hundreds of others were hospitalized.
