Kiambu stakeholders have accused the county government of not involving the public in its development agenda.
Speaking to the press on Tuesday, county stakeholders association chairman Kimani Kang’ethe said that the county has ignored the constitution which states that the public must be involved in development.
He said that failure to engage the public in development is a breach of the constitution which the people massively voted for.
“It’s unfortunate that the county leadership continues to breach the constitution which requires public participation in development,” he said.
Kang’ethe said that locals have a right to be part of the development agenda and decision making taking part in the county.
The chairman said that they will continue to push for public engagement to ensure transparency and fairness in county dealings.
He urged locals to come out and seek involvement in public matters, saying they are the tax payers and need for them to be consulted.
The chairman further urged Governor William Kabogo to involve all the people in his development plan.
He said all the sub-county and wards in the county should receive equal measure of development projects and public resources.
