Langas Ward MCA Francis Muya has asked Uasin Gishu government to stop eviction of tenants form government houses.
Speaking to the press at Langas Estate, MCA Muya accused the county government of evicting tenants form government houses without notice.
He said that the government is acting against the law and called for suspension of the evictions.
“Uasin Gishu County government has no right to evict tenants without providing them with a legal notice in advance,” said Muya.
Muiya further accused the county of carrying the evictions in an inhumane manner saying it is against those people‘s rights. He also urged the national government through the Ministry of Housing to intervene in the matter.
Muya alleged that several tenants some who are civil servants have been evicted from State houses in Eldoret town.
Speaking at a different forum, County Housing Executive Robert Ngeserey declined to comment on the matter.
He however said that the county will give a comprehensive brief on the allegations before the end of the week.
