The County Government of Uasin Gishu has embarked on the training of all County administrators on matters online Revenue collection system.
This, according to the County Executive in charge of Trade and ICT Dr. Emily Kogos will aid in an improved revenue collection as the administrators are in direct contact with the people on the ward level.
"Since the administrators are key pillars of the government at the ground, it is, therefore, important to bring them on board so that they will lead the public in championing the newly launched E-Service on revenue collection," she noted.
On Tuesday, all the Sub County and Ward Administrators were taken through the County Revenue Management system training which is aimed at equipping them with skills and sensitizing them on the E-Service, a platform that will see them perform registration of businesses and land rates at the ward levels.
"As the Administrators, you are the Vision carriers of the county and you are responsible sensitizing the people to pay their revenue from the ground level. This exercise is of great impact as it will take the services closer to the people," added Dr. Kogos.
Chief Officer in Charge of Administration Edwin Bett lauded the exercise saying that the administrators who also act as the compliance officers at the wards will get an access to the online platform which will make them monitor the collection of revenue in their respective wards.
On his side, Chief Officer, ICT, and E-Government Edwin Suter said that ICT plays a key role in the entire exercise and added that his department is going to empower the administrators as they pursue their course on Revenue collection.
