Uasin Gishu Governor Jackson Mandago's security adviser Paul Ruto has dismissed claims by a section of Eldoret business community that he has given orders for the county enforcement officers to harass traders from a certain community.
Ruto who is also in charge of the enforcement department said the officers were only ensuring the laws set by the county assembly are fully enforced.
Addressing the press at his office in Eldoret town, Thursday, Ruto insisted that his officers have been acting professionally accusing Huruma MCA Peter Chomba of using the matter for political gains.
"Chomba is an MCA and can raise those issues in the assembly or even access the governor so that they can be addressed but has instead resorted to playing politics," said Mr. Ruto.
"As far as I am concerned nobody is being harassed, we are only enforcing laws as they are and if he (Chomba) feels those laws are not got he can use the assembly to abolish them," he added.
Chomba on Wednesday accused the governor's security adviser for being behind traders harassment and threatened to mobilize them to demonstrate seeking for his removal.
