The county government of Nyamira has been asked to employ the many casual workers at the Nyamira Teaching and Referral Hospital on permanent terms.
Speaking during the ground breaking ceremony of the construction of 3 theatres and a doctors plaza at the hospital, Dan Kiage, the hospital's board chair said the hospital has been operating with so many casuals who may not put in all their best efforts while offering services.
"We must be assured that our workers are here to stay and not to offer us services and leave, I am asking the county government to consider employing them on permanent basis and that will be the fruits of devolution," said Kiage.
The county intends to build a women, general cases and emergency theatres apart from the doctors plaza in the next 9 months.
During this ending financial year, the county allocated the biggest share of more than Sh1 billion to the health sector in its bid to improve services.
