Speaking to the press on Tuesday, the MP said that most of the roads that are under repair are being done poorly.

He said that road contractors working in the area are doing shoddy work and that their license should be cancelled.

Moi cited the Kamukunji-Nyamati road which was repaired a month ago but it’s now in a deplorable state.

“I want to ask the county Roads executive to intervene and ensure that our roads are repaired to the required standards,” he said.

Moi said that residents are finding it difficult to access Nakuru town since the major road connecting it with the county headquarters is in poor state.

The MP further asked the county government to fast-track repair of all roads in the area noting that their poor state has hampered on residents activities. He said that the sub county is an agricultural hub and needs proper infrastructure to ensure farmers access the market with ease.

Moi also asked the county government to install street lights that will enable a 24 hour economy.

Speaking over the weekend, County Roads executive Joel Maina said that all roads in the county are under repair.

He said the government has invested heavily in infrastructure including installation of street lights, traffic lights and CCTV cameras which he observed is geared towards promoting the county’s economy.
