Ruiru chamber of commerce and industry chairman Simon Nga’ng’a has called on the county government to focus on projects that will generate income for the people.
Speaking to the press at Ruiru town, the chairman said that there is need for the government to ensure people’s lives are bettered through commissioning of income generating projects.
He said that most population in the area is living in abject poverty and that urgent measures should be taken to improve their living standards.
“I want to ask the county leadership to concentrate on projects that will directly improve the lives of the people,” he said.
Nga’ng’a also asked the county government to collaborate and work with both local and foreign investors to boost development.
He intimated that Kiambu has a peaceful environment and resources that can be use to attract investors.
The chairman also called on leaders in the area to focus on uniting residents saying that there can be development if there is disunity.
Meanwhile, Nga’ng’a has urged youths in the area to take a step forward and apply for the money being given out by the government.
He expressed concerns that most youths in Ruiru have not applied for development funds, adding that they need to apply in order to curb unemployment.
He lauded the initiative s being taken by the national government to fight unemployment adding that county governments should step in and support the initiatives.
