Thika Town MP Alice Ng’ang’a wants Kiambu County government to improve state of security in the Constituency.
Ng’ang’a has complained over the rising crime rates in the town and nearby Estates saying that the government must act immediately to curb the vice.
Addressing residents at Blue Post Estate in Thika on Sunday, she said that security is crucial and that the government must put in place adequate measures to guarantee safety of locals.
“I want to appeal to our county and the national government to address security concerns in Thika town,” said Ng’ang’a.
She said that businessmen have also expressed concerns and want the government to deploy more security personnel to the town to ensure safety of their investment in the area.
Ng’ang’a also said that the government has a responsibility of ensuring that all its citizens and investors are safe.
She called on the area Police officers to increase security surveillance and patrols and deal with criminal elements adding that the police should work tirelessly to guarantee security of Thika locals.
Ng’ang’a at the same time cautioned youths in the area against involving in criminal activities. She observed that some youths are being lured to join criminal gangs.
“Young people should be careful and stay away from people who want to incorporate them in engaging in criminal activities,” advised Ng’ang’a.
