Limuru MP John Kiragu has urged the Kiambu county government to install CCTV cameras and other surveillance devices across the county to monitor and curb cases of crime.
The MP noted that cases of criminals causing havoc, robbing and killing while they walk scot free must be dealt with.
Kiragu, while addressing the media at Limuru town on Saturday said the county has enough funds to invest in security technology.
“Governor William Kabogo should spearhead the installation of surveillance devices across Kiambu,” he said.
The legislator noted that crime remains a big threat to development and must be fought at all costs.
While reiterating that the government must work to guarantee security of citizens, he asked politicians from the political divide to work together.
“When it comes to security matters there should be no compromise or wrangles or petty interests,” he said.
The legislator said that the killing of Kabete MP George Muchai should be an eye-opener that the country needs more surveillance.
He said the death of Muchai shocked many adding that investigations must be comprehensive.
Muchai, who was brutally killed last Saturday, was buried at his home in Ruai, Kiambu County.
