A section of traders in Nakuru have urged the county government to address the 'worrisome issue' of congestion in the town.

The traders have said Nakuru town is losing the glory of being the cleanest urban town in East Africa due to poor planning and sanitation.

Ibrahim Kassim, an investor in petroleum products, said the town is more congested hence the need to remap it in order to sustain the growing needS of a modern town that connect the capital city with the western parts of the country.

Kassim said all buildings should be moderniSed, adding that more Kenyans are investing in business.

We want the county government to be keener on all structures within the town centre. Investor usually flocks and invests in areas that are properly planned and availability of social amenities. Added Kassim.

In the recent years Nakuru town has experienced a huge jam ranging from vehicles and market products.

Nakuru county Governor Kinuthia Mbugua has also maintained that his government plans to clean up the streets after doing away with makeshift kiosks.

He said the town will be properly planned and all hawkers relocated after the completing of their modern stall in the town
