Residents of Kisii County have asked the county government to repair all faulty sewage pipes in the town.
They said that damaged conduit pipes were spilling sewage and it was a threat to their health.
"For the last three months, we have been living with the broken pipes and it is a threat to our health. It is time the county government did something about it," he said.
Mr Duke Ogato also a local said that the sewers become riskier during the rains.
The locals further urged the county government to relay the sewage pipes as a measure to prevent it from mixing with running water that ends up in rivers.
"Ongwae's government should set money aside to develop a function sewage system," said Martha Atuti, a resident.
