MCA Wachira told reporters at his office on Saturday that many locals in his Riabai Ward have no access to tap water.

He stated that locals depend on borehole water which at times is not safe for human consumption and dry up during dry seasons, leaving the residents without that precious commodity.

“Kiambu government should move with speed and supply us with clean drinking water,” said Wachira.

The Ward representative asserted that the county has enough money which should be used to supply water to the area.

He further claimed that the area has been sidelined in terms of development projects and called for equal distribution of resources by the Kiambu County government.

MCA Wachira said that the area residents have a right to access resources just like other people in other parts of the county. He also called on the county government to renovate roads in the Ward.

He said that most roads in Riabai are dusty and often rendered impassable especially during heavy rains. MCA Wachira stated that improving road will boost the economic development in the Ward.

Wachira however vowed to support Governor William Kabogo’s development agenda saying that the Governor has the interests of the people at heart and is ready and willing to promote development in Kiambu for the Kiambu people.
