Nakuru County Assembly on Wednesday evening adopted a report by the assembly committee on Lands.
The report was on the vetting of nominees to the Nakuru County Land Management Board.
The 17- member committee headed by Hells Gate Ward MCA, Jonathan Warothe, vetted seven nominees and forwarded the names to the speaker through land county executive as required by the law.
Out of the seven recommended nominees, four were accepted while four were rejected in a heated debate.
The MCAs recommended that the National Land Commission appoints three members who will represent the cosmopolitan nature of Nakuru County seeing that the approved four comes from the two dominant communities in the county.
Warothe said that the committee was contented with the county assembly's decision to pass the report with amendments.
"Members have spoken and there is nothing else we can do but to accept it," said Warothe.
This followed an objection by Biashara Ward MCA, Stephen Kuria, who wanted the report to be passed without amendment.
The board will now have an uphill task to address the land problem that has dogged the county of late with title deeds problem topping the list.
